Do Professional Chip &
Scratch Repair
Add paint chip and
scratch repair to your bag of detailing secrets. No need to invest
$1000 in commercial paint chip repair technology or pay Big $$$ for
paint chip and scratch repair. Now you can accomplish quality chip
and scratch repair yourself with a minimal investment. If you're a
professional detailer this modern technology means an additional source
of income from every detailing job.
With the LANGKA™
process you are using the same process used in the commercial automotive
paint chip repair industry but formulated to work with manufacturers
touch-up paints.
Touch-up paints for
touch-up repair work are readily available at auto dealerships and local
auto parts stores. Or order touch up paints on-line at www.PaintScratch.com
. No doubt, you have used them in the past and been dissatisfied
with the results. Simply said, a blob of paint on a $50,000
Corvette doesn't cut it.
The LANGKA™
process provides a way to smooth the blob and makes the repair, using
touch-up paints, all but disappear.
Dri-Wash 'n Guard® your vehicle. Then clean any chips with Lanka
PrePaint.
Use a toothpick, matchstick, brush or paint pen to apply touch-up paint
(purchased separately at your auto dealership, auto parts store or www.PaintScratch.com
) to the chip. Allow it to dry to the touch - typically 45 - 90
minutes up to 3 - 4 days. This will leave the typical
"blob" of touch-up paint visible on the surface as
diagrammed. Apply 2nd or 3rd coat if necessary.
To restore paint surface to smooth finish wrap a smooth, clean, tightly
woven cotton cloth around the enclosed "buffing card".
SHAKE WELL and apply LANGKA™ generously to the cloth covering the flat
surface. Rub LANGKA™ over the "blob" for
15 - 30 seconds allowing LANGKA to quickly penetrate and begin smoothing
the "blob" of excess paint. Once the touch-up paint blob
begins to wear off, begin rubbing lighter until the excess paint is gone
and paint is left inside the chip/scratch. Lightly hand-buff to
remove any excess LANGKA™ with a clean cloth.
In most cases you
can apply a coat of Dri-Wash 'n Guard? the next day and the chip will be
nearly impossible to detect.

The Five Minute Repair Process
If time is critical and you don't
want to wait 45-90 minutes for the paint to dry, OR you just want to get
paint into the chip/scratch, and you are NOT overly concerned about the
"smoothness" of the repair you can do this repair in 5 minutes
or less. We call this the "Finger Painting" method. Here's
how:
 |
Clean the chips/scratched area
with rubbing alcohol.
| |
Apply touch up paint and
quickly "smear" the paint with your finger over the chip
and over the surface of the vehicle to other chips in the area if
needed, i.e., finger painting the vehicle. This will put paint in
the chip/scratch and speed up the drying time of the paint.
Likewise, this will leave more touch up paint on the OEM surface
(which will come off quite easily...not to worry!).
| |
When the paint is
"tacky" or "dry" ( a few minutes +/-), wrap your
forefinger with a smooth clean cloth, and apply LANGKA™ (shake
well) to the cloth. Rub over the areas painted and you can both
watch it begin to remove the excess paint and you will
"feel" it being rubbed off. Use light pressure when moving
over the chip areas and a little bit more pressure where the paint
in on the OEM surface. NOTE: if you remove too much paint, just
re-do this process being more careful with the amount of pressure
you apply with your finger.
| |
Buff the excess LANGKA™ from
the surface. You may hand wax the area if you desire immediately.
Remove any paint on your finger with LANGKA™ and then wash your
hands immediately.
|
NOTE: the 5 minute process will
not leave larger chips smooth, but color will be in the chip/scratch to
camouflage the damaged area and protect the area from rusting.
Common Questions & Answers
about LANGKA™
Q. Can I order Scratch & Chip
Repair products on my Dri-Wash order.
A. YES. Add your Scratch & Chip Repair products order in the
optional Suggestions/Remarks section of your Dri-Wash.com order
form. We will complete your LANKA™ order for you and e-mail you
a separate on-line receipt for your scratch & chip repair
products. Or you can make your own separate scratch & chip
repair product order here.
Dri-Wash 'n Guard? and LANKA™
are separate companies and their respective products are shipped from
separate warehouses therefore you will receive two separate
receipts.
Q. Will LANGKA™ work on the
touch up paint I put on my car this past summer?
A. LANGKA™ is only guaranteed to work on newly applied touch up paint
as in our directions. However, some users claim it works on old touch up
paint. You'll just need to be sure the area is very clean since you will
need to rub longer and use plenty of LANGKA™ if you are going to
attempt removing this old touch up paint.
Q. Is this product guaranteed?
A. YES. If for any reason LANGKA™ The Blob Eliminator™ does not
remove the excess blob of paint that was applied 3-4 days prior, Langka
Corp will refund the cost of the product in full.
Q. Will LANGKA™ damage the clear
coat surface on my car?
A. Absolutely not. LANGKA™ is specifically prepared to only remove the
applied touch up paint, and not affect the original manufacturers
surface or clear coat surface. However, on repainted surfaces, you
should test LANGKA™ in an inconspicuous place.
Q. Can Langka™ be used on plastic bumpers or fiberglass?
A. Yes, LANGKA™ can be used on any painted surface, metal,
plastic, or fiberglass.
Q. How long will it take to get my order?
A. We process all orders within 48 hours. Normal delivery is 7-14 days
with USPS. Priority Mail is available upon request.
Q. What is the shelf life of LANGKA™?
A. Four years. Actually, it may be longer. Our original batch runs of
LANGKA have held up fine. We recommend you shake LANGKA™ before using.
Q. Do I need to purchase anything else?
A. You will need to purchase the touch up paint that matches your car
and get a smooth, tightly woven cloth (bed sheet, T-shirt, diaper). Your
dealership, local auto parts supply store or www.PaintScratch.com
will have your paint color. Again, LANGKA™ is designed specifically
for manufacturers touch up paint, not body shop paints. If your repair
requires other items, we offer many on our order form.
Q. Will LANGKA™ work on my vehicle?
A. LANGKA™ will safely remove touch up paint on all painted surfaces,
including all metals, fiberglass or plastic materials; such as cars, car
bumpers, boats, planes, bicycles, motorcycles, home appliances, bicycle
helmets, etc.
Q. Is this repair permanent?
A. Absolutely! The only precaution, as with any newly applied paint, do
not power wash or power buff the vehicle for 30 days.
Q. Can I damage my car using LANGKA™?
A. Absolutely not! LANGKA™ is designed only to remove the touch up
paint and not affect the original surface, including clear coats.
Q. How long will a 2oz. bottle normally last?
A. You can repair 20 to 30 chips per 2oz. bottle.
Q. Can I buy this locally?
A. LANGKA™ can only be purchased directly from the manufacturer at
this time.
Q. What about metallic paints?
A. LANGKA™ will remove the excess paint on all types of paints. In
some cases, metallics have a tendency to darken a bit. The reason is
quite simple. You have to get enough metallic flakes in the chip to
refract light, and that is a variable LANGKA™ cannot control. For best
results, increase the touch-up paint's shaking time in order to further
agitate metallic flakes before you apply the paint. This seems to help
greatly. Click Here for more information on clear coating.
Q. What about scratches?
A. Scratches are just "long" chips. We recommend you allow the
paint to dry at least 12-24 hours and then rub perpendicular to the
scratch while removing the excess paint. Rub LIGHTLY as the paint has a
tendancy to pull out of scratches. You will need to use more LANGKA™
and rub a little longer.
Q. Any special tips?
A. Allow paint to dry for 45-90 minutes or longer (for scratches wait 12
to 24 hours). Use plenty of LANGKA™. Rub lighter as the excess
paint begins to be removed. See 5 Minute Repair Process above.
Q. What about using spray paint from those rattle cans?
A. A lacquer based spray paint is preferred. If it is a
non-lacquer based paint, see the next question.
Q. Will LANGKA™ work with NON-lacquer based paint like the paint my
painter gave me when he painted the vehicle?
A. Yes, but again we recommend using manufacturers touch up paint
(lacquer based). If you use this non-lacquer base body shop paint, let
the paint dry for 3-4 days then do the LANGKA™ Process. Rub very
lightly with LANGKA. You may need to put a clear coat layer over the
touch up area in addition as these paints have a tendency to loose their
glossy look.
